Division of Mathematical Methods of Information Technology
Many modern scientific enterprises and technological
applications generate large amounts of complex data. Some examples are remote
sensing, electromagnetic measurements of brain activity, automatic speech
and handwritten character recognition, and the search for new elementary particles.
The work of the research division involves the development, analysis, and
application of new flexible computational methods that can help meet the challenge
posed by such complex data.
